Swim Across Hungary’s Most Beloved Lake
The classic 5.2 km route stretches between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár, offering participants the chance to conquer the Balaton in a single swim. Prefer something a little less daunting? There’s also a 2.6 km lap course along the Platán Beach in Balatonboglár, perfect for those looking for a shorter, scenic swim.
Distances Available
Full Distance (5.2 km): Starts from the football field near Révfülöp harbour and finishes at Platán Beach, Balatonboglár. Half Distance (2.6 km lap swim): Located entirely in Balatonboglár – start and finish at Platán Beach, with a turnaround buoy at 1.3 km. SUP Cross (5.2 km): Starting a few metres from the swim start in Révfülöp, paddleboarders will follow the same route to Platán Beach.

Date: 26 July 2025 (with backup dates: 27 July, 2, 3, 9, 10 August) Start Time: 7:00 AM Location: Révfülöp to Balatonboglár Participants: Up to 11,500 swimmers across all distances Age Limits: Under 18s require parental/guardian permission Under 14s may only participate with adult supervision (except for licensed athletes in swimming, water polo, triathlon, or pentathlon)

Changing tents and cloakroom available in both Révfülöp and Balatonboglár Lockers and luggage transfer from Révfülöp to Balatonboglár available Chip-based timing system for accurate results Safety ensured by 3 medical boats and 18 sailing boats forming a secure swim corridor Refreshments and a finisher’s pack await at the finish line
No Medical Certificate Required
Participation is at your own risk – no need for a medical certificate or on-site check-up. However, a medical team will be available at the start line in case of any health concerns.
Limited Parking – Travel Smart!
Parking in Révfülöp is very limited. Organisers recommend avoiding travel by car. If unavoidable, use one of the designated areas:
